DENVER (KDVR) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday that it had arrested 16 people previously detained after an Aurora apartment invasion. The 16 were arrested for being in the country illegally without authorization, according to the agency.
ICE previously said that the 16 were confirmed Venezuelan nationals and were also suspected of being Tren de Aragua members or associates.
The Aurora Police Department took the suspects into custody after two people reported being tortured and kidnapped at the Edge at Lowry apartment complex.
Around 8:45 p.m. Monday, a male and female victim reported that they were accosted by between 13 and 15 armed individuals at the complex, which is located at 1258 Dallas Street.
They said they were forced into a different apartment and tied up, pistol-whipped, beaten and stabbed, according to police.
