SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco State University is on lockdown Thursday afternoon after the University Police Department received an anonymous threat to campus. An alert to shelter-in-place was sent through text messages and social media shortly before 12:30 p.m.

“If you are not on campus do not come,” SF State said in an announcement. Activities and classes for Thursday are canceled, university officials said.

"For those who are on campus please shelter in place immediately or go to a secure location," university police said. Authorities are advising people to stay away from windows and doors and to remain in place until further instructions.
