The Santa Ana winds will continue to subside into Thursday morning, though locally breezy east-to-northeasterly winds and low relative humidity will persist, keeping fire weather conditions elevated in San Diego County.
The National Weather Service office in San Diego said temperatures are expected to gradually cool from Thursday through the weekend.
High temperatures Thursday are expected to reach 68 to 73 near the coast, 74 to 75 inland, 78 to 83 in the western valleys, 67 to 76 in the mountains and around 80 in the deserts.
Marine layer low clouds and fog may return along the coast, lingering through Sunday, according to meteorologists.
Looking ahead to next week, gusty westerly winds in the mountains and deserts, along with a chance of showers, are forecast for Tuesday.
