Not guilty pleas have been entered on behalf of the teenager accused of murdering three girls in Southport after he refused to speak in court.
Axel Rudakubana, 18, did not respond when asked if he was guilty or not guilty of 16 counts, as he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court by video-link from Belmarsh prison this afternoon.
Pleas of not guilty to three counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder were then entered on his behalf.
Not guilty pleas were also entered to producing the deadly poison ricin, possession of a knife, and the possession of an al Qaeda training manual.
He is due to go on trial in January.
Rudakubana is charged with the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine; Bebe King, six; and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven; who died following the stabbings at The Hart Space in Southport, Merseyside, shortly before midday on 29 July.
He is charged with the attempted murder of eight other children, who cannot be named for legal reasons, along with instructor Leanne Lucas and businessman John Hayes.
He was later charged with producing ricin and allegedly possessing an al Qaeda training manual after searches of his home in Banks, Lancashire.
