Courtesy of the department A motorist was shot by police Wednesday after allegedly driving a pickup truck into an officer outside El Cajon police headquarters, authorities said. The shooting in the 100 block of Civic Center Way took place shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, public-affairs Lt. Keith MacArthur said. The condition of the motorist was not released, but NBC San Diego reported that the driver died. The officer hit by the vehicle was taken to a hospital for treatment of apparently non-life-threatening injuries, the lieutenant said.
