A passenger was killed after a microbus fell into the Ibrahimiya Canal at the Dayrout Center in Assiut Governorate in Upper Egypt on Sunday. Assiut Governor Hisham Abul-Nasr said: “We were informed that one microbus was carrying 10 passengers and the driver, while it was at Dayrout station in Assiut, and the driver left the vehicle without taking safety measures and applying the handbrake, so it slide into the canal waters.” During a phone interview with Extra News Channel, he added that rescue forces, Civil Defense and police forces immediately worked on retrieving the victims and saving the rest of the passengers.
