Oceanside Post Office to be Renamed in Honor of Local Pioneer Charlesetta Reece Allen

Allen moved to Oceanside in the 1930’s and is believed to be the the third Black woman to live in the town. She also established the first black-owned restaurant and the Church of God and Christ and served as the first president of the North County NAACP. “She was one of the first Black leaders in our community and deserves to be recognized and remembered for all she did for the area,” said Rep.
