Damascus, SANA – A medical team at Al-Basel Specialized Hospital in Homs succeeded in saving a young man’s hand from amputation during an emergency surgery that lasted for more than five hours. Upon receiving the 17-years young man at the hospital after suffering severe bleeding from his left upper limb caused by glass fragments, a full medial test was conducted and surgery was carried out by a medical team of specialists in vascular ,neural and bony surgery. Dr. Ali Hallaweh, neurosurgical specialist, told SANA that a rapid surgical intervention was conducted after the brachial artery, which is the main nutritional artery of the upper limb, was being cut off and bleed heavily.
