Ruptured gas line at San Jose 7-Eleven prompts evacuations

(KRON) -- Firefighters in San Jose are responding to a ruptured natural gas line Thursday morning on McLaughlin Avenue near Story Road, according to the San Jose Fire Department. Evacuations of nearby apartments and businesses have been made. The gas line was ruptured at a 7-Eleven, located at 1173 McLaughlin Ave., just before 7 a.m., SFFD said. PG&E crews are on scene evaluating the line break. Photo: SJFDPhoto: SJFD McLaughlin Ave. in the southbound direction has been shut down to traffic at Story Rd. There are some traffic impacts in the northbound direction as well, fire officials said. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
