ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 80-year-old woman died in a mobile home fire in Alexander County Sunday, officials say. Multiple fire departments responded to a home on Frank Smith Mobile Home Park Drive in Taylorsville. Officials confirm that there are no additional injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the family members who were also occupants. It was determined that the fire was accidental, caused by an extension cord under an aluminum door. Alexander EMS, Sheriff's Office, Fire Marshal's Office and NC Office of State Fire Marshal were assisting in the investigation.
