Marlins star Jazz Chisholm drenched MLB reporter Jessica Blaylock with a large tub of water during a victory celebration after Miami's extra innings win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-8, on Tuesday night.
With her back turned to the dugout, Blaylock was in the middle of a live interview with Vidal Brujan, after his walk-off hit in the 10th inning at LoanDepot Park secured the win, and a translator when Chisholm approached the group from behind and poured a cooler filled with water over them .
“Oh, my goodness! I feel like I just maybe delivered the walk-off hit,” she said on the live broadcast, laughing. “Alright, let’s keep going!”
Meanwhile, a smiling Chisholm was seen flexing and nodding his head in the dugout.
Bally Sports Florida posted the video on X, with the caption: “Dang Jazz, you didn’t have to do @JessBlaylock like that!”
Blaylock, who reposted the clip, sent a message to Chisholm on social media.
“Hey @j_chisholm3, I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything,” she wrote in a post on X. “But you better bring me some chocolate tomorrow!!! I think I earned it!”
The center fielder later replied, “You know I always got you!!! There’s a box waiting on you !!”
The Marlins beat the Cardinals 4-3 in the second of their three-game series on Wednesday after St. Louis won Monday’s matchup, 7-6.
The Marlins host the Mariners beginning Friday.
