Newcastle’s Brazilian star has scored four goals in his last six away games in the Premier League and tends to enjoy his travels, with nine of his 16 strikes for the Magpies having come on the road.
Guimaraes has managed seven shots in his last three matches combined and with United still in the midst of an injury crisis, forcing Casemiro out of position and requiring Sofyan Amrabat to play significant minutes, he could get plenty of opportunities to find the net on Wednesday.
After so many low points, there's a strong argument to sack Ten Hag. But while there are still games left -- particularly the cup final against Man City -- there remain opportunities for Ten Hag to sway the debate in his favour.
It will take more than a narrow win over Newcastle to convince everyone, but there is, at least, a glimmer of hope that maybe an otherwise forgettable campaign can have a positive end.
Newcastle refused to go down without a fight and managed to level the score once again. But it was Marcus Rashford who had the final say, scoring a late winner to secure all three points for Manchester United.
Overall, it was a thrilling match that showcased the excitement and unpredictability of football. Both teams displayed great determination and skill, but it was Manchester United who emerged victorious in the end.
