In a thrilling match that had fans on the edge of their seats, Manchester City emerged victorious over Tottenham Hotspur with a stunning performance from Erling Haaland. The young striker scored twice to secure a crucial win for City, putting them one step closer to clinching the Premier League title.
Haaland's goals were a testament to his incredible talent and composure under pressure. His first goal came early in the match, giving City an early lead and setting the tone for the rest of the game. His second goal sealed the victory for City, solidifying their position at the top of the league table.
It was a tense, eventful night with City also having to bring substitute ‘keeper Stefan Ortega Moreno on for Ederson midway through the second half after the Brazilian hurt his head in a collision with Cristian Romero.
And the German made his impact immediately felt with a series of quite outstanding saves - including one stunning block to deny Son Heung-Min - to keep the hosts out.
City are now unbeaten in 22 league games and have again showed they are the masters of pacing a title chase.
Yet they were strangely lethargic in the first half and were given an early fright when Éderson, who was later forced off after a blow to the head, had to tip Rodrigo Bentancur's fierce rising drive over the crossbar.
City were stuck in second gear and their best chance before the interval was courtesy of a horrible clearance by Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg that fell for Phil Foden, but his volley was superbly saved by Guglielmo Vicario.
Guardiola, watching on, had his head in his hands before falling to the ground in relief.
Shortly after, Doku lured Porro into a lunge in the Spurs box and referee Chris Kavanagh pointed to the spot.
Haaland put the game beyond doubt by blasting his shot into the top corner for his second of the match and 38th of the season.
City’s win also meant Aston Villa secured fourth place and qualification for next season’s Champions League ahead of Tottenham in fifth.
