Jared Leto Subs in Wheel of Fortune Host

In a surprising turn of events, actor and musician Jared Leto has been announced as the new host of the popular game show Wheel of Fortune. The decision to bring Leto on board comes after longtime host Pat Sajak stepped down due to health reasons.

Leto, known for his charismatic personality and versatility in the entertainment industry, is sure to bring a fresh and exciting energy to the show. Fans are eager to see how he will put his own spin on the classic game show format.

The April 1 episode of the popular game show opened with Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto coming onto the set with Vanna White as part of an April Fools’ Day joke.

“Ladies and gentlemen, here are the stars of our show — Jared Leto and Vanna White,” the announcer said as the pair walked out arm in arm, as they waved to the audience

Leto then hosted the opening puzzle, with the guests being slightly confused as to why he was there.

After the first puzzle was completed, Pat Sajack returned to the wheel and Leto left, without any explanation.

Later, Wheel of Fortune posted on Instagram about the host switcheroo saying, "Did you notice anything different in tonight's show?! #AprilFools."

"Here are the stars of our show, Jared Leto and Vanna White,” said the introductions, prompting Leto and White to step out onstage holding on to each other’s arms and waving at the audience. "Have a great show and see you soon," said Leto to White, proceeding to take the spot Sajek has occupied over the past decades.

Seacrest revealed his new role in an Instagram post where he praised Sajak and shared his excitement about joining "the great" White on the game show. “You don't mess with it, just don't mess with it. Just get out of the way, say ‘Good evening’ and let's play,” the 49-year-old told PEOPLE in September. “I think I have so much adrenaline rushing through my body. Excitement is the word because it's such a phenomenal show. I've been a fan. I grew up watching the show. and I can't wait to take over after the legendary Pat Sajak.”

Sajak is set to say goodbye to the game show in June, while White will stay on as a co-host.

White, who has co-hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1982, extended her contract to remain on the show through the 2025-26 season after negotiating for her first pay raise in 18 years, according to Deadline.
