Bengals to sign TE Mike Gesicki

The Cincinnati Bengals have made a significant move in the offseason by signing tight end Mike Gesicki to their roster. Gesicki, who previously played for the Miami Dolphins, brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Bengals' offense. Known for his exceptional pass-catching ability and athleticism, Gesicki is expected to be a valuable asset for quarterback Joe Burrow and the rest of the Bengals' offensive unit.

This signing demonstrates the team's commitment to improving their roster and making a push for success in the upcoming season. With Gesicki on board, the Bengals are poised to make waves in the AFC North and compete at a high level against tough opponents. Fans can look forward to seeing how Gesicki's skills will elevate the team's performance on game day. Overall, this acquisition is a promising development for Bengals fans and signals an exciting future ahead for the franchise.

According to reports it just happened to be on the second day of free agency in a one-year agreement with the former Patriot and second-round draft pick of the Dolphins, Penn State's Mike Gesicki.

That gives the Bengals two franchise players with Gesicki, who played on the tag in Miami in 2022 after a career-high season of 73 catches and 780, joining the current designee wide receiver Tee Higgins.

The move further reinforces the Bengals' tight end position after the team re-signed Drew Sample to a three-year contract Monday.

Gesicki signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots with a base value of $4.5 million in March 2023 after having played on the franchise tag the year before for the Miami Dolphins.

Gesicki caught a career-high six touchdowns in 2020 for the Dolphins and then set career highs with 73 receptions and 780 yards in 2021, but his numbers dipped in 2022 -- his final season in Miami -- before dropping again in 2023 with the Patriots.

The Patriots opted to re-sign tight end Hunter Henry, but based on the low money Gesicki fetched from the Bengals, New England opted to let Gesicki walk in free agency.

Overall, this acquisition is a positive development for the Bengals organization and their fans, as it signals a proactive approach towards building a competitive team that can compete at the highest level. The addition of Mike Gesicki has certainly raised expectations for what this team can achieve in the upcoming season
