Three Santa Rosa residents sustained minor injuries Friday afternoon when the plane they were in crashed near Whitethorn in southern Humboldt County. About 1:15 p.m. Friday, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a possible airplane crash in the area of Usal Road, the MCSO reported. Following is more information about the crash, provided by the MCSO in a Sunday news release. Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, CalFire, Southern Humboldt Tech Rescue, and members of the Whale Gulch, Shelter Cover, and Whitethorn Fire Departments responded to assist.
