Shepherd Public Schools hosted a basketball tournament in a few of their gyms in for the Special Olympics. The tournament occurred around 9 a.m. on Jan. 20 in Shepherd’s high school, middle school, and elementary school gyms. Over 20 teams from around the state of Michigan competed throughout the day. Some of the teams competing in the Special Olympics basketball tournament at Shepherd High School. (Sarah Wright-The Morning Sun) This is an annual event for the Special Olympics that features the talents of athletes of varying skill level.
