Nuggets win over Celtics 102-100

The recent victory of the Denver Nuggets over the Boston Celtics with a score of 102-100 was a thrilling and intense game that showcased the true spirit of competition. Both teams displayed exceptional skills and determination throughout the match, making it an unforgettable experience for fans and players alike.

From the very beginning, it was evident that this game would be closely contested. The Celtics, known for their strong defense and offensive prowess, put up a tough fight against the Nuggets' relentless offense. The lead changed hands multiple times throughout the four quarters, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.

Jokic added 12 rebounds and nine assists to help the defending NBA champions end the Celtics’ streak at 20 straight home victories. It was the first of two regular-season meetings between teams with sights on representing their respective conferences in the NBA Finals. They play again in Denver on March 7.

Jayson Tatum had a chance to tie it in the closing seconds, but he missed a one-legged fadeaway off the rim. He finished with 22 points and eight rebounds. Derrick White had 24 points and Kristaps Porzingis added 21.

“It was a technical game,” Murray said. “Just because everybody on the court has to be on the same page. It felt like each timeout, something was different. They came out in a 2-1-2 zone. Then they put Jrue (Holiday) on me to start. (Jaylen Brown) would press. Sometimes they switched with Porzingis. Sometimes they blitzed. … Both teams were countering each other. It just kind of felt like that.”

The Nuggets survived a pivotal stretch without Jokic to start a suspenseful fourth quarter thanks to Murray’s astounding turn-around shot-making. But Boston regained a 98-95 lead with Jokic back on the floor, prompting Malone to take a timeout with 4:51 remaining. Jokic responded by scoring the next two buckets, and Porter scored a put-back floater with 2:50 left to make it 101-98, Denver. The Nuggets didn’t make a shot the rest of the game.

While the first half of the season has been above and beyond all expectations, the season's success will, obviously, come down to whether or not the Celtics win a championship. The perfect start at home, All-Star nods, and All-NBA honors won't mean anything if the Celtics don't win 16 games in the postseason. We're still a few months away from knowing if they'll finally get over the hump and bring a banner back to Boston for the first time since 2008.

But based on how they've played together and basically decimated any team in their way over the last three months, it doesn't look like anyone else has what it takes to stop these Celtics.
