Two Ukiah women were taken to the hospital Thursday evening after a SUV being driven by a suspect fleeing a traffic stop collided with their vehicle during a high-speed pursuit, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, around 9 p.m. Jan. 18, an officer on patrol in the 1000 block of North State Street “heard a loud engine and screeching tires west of his location near Elm Street, (then saw) a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound through the intersection of Garrett Drive and Elm Street at an extremely high rate of speed.” When the officer turned onto Elm Street, he reportedly saw the Tahoe run a stop sign, then lost sight of the vehicle until it was exiting the parki
