And in recent years local businesses have been given the spotlight to encourage shopping locally. Since 2010, Small Business Saturday has encouraged people to shop locally during the holiday season. And right here in Sioux City, Downtown Partners created Small Business Bingo to highlight over 20 local shops around town. “It’s great for the small businesses to get business in during the holidays,” said an interior designer at MOD House Interiors Graci Tangeman. “Thanksgiving is perfect because it brings everyone back home, and then everyone’s here on Saturday to shop locally.” The Bingo
