BURGAW, N.C. (WECT) – Demond Jordan traveled to Coventry, England, for the United States Powerlifting Association World Championships, he dead lifted over 800 pounds and took home first place. Jordan is from Pender County. He currently holds 17 state records, four national and the newest addition to the list is a world record. Jordan competed in the USPA Drug Tested World Championship October 14-22. Jordan is a professional powerlifter. During competition he competed in the squat, bench and deadlift.
