Chelsea v Arsenal today in Premier League

Saturday’s Oct. 21 rivalry game between Chelsea Football Club versus Arsenal. The match begins at 9:30 a.m. Arsenal are currently holding the top spot at the table and need a big performance to keep their top spot and margin against Manchester City.

The Blues have lost five of their last six Premier League meetings with Arsenal, including both in 2022/23, and have not beaten them at Stamford Bridge since August 2018.

However, after a difficult start to the season, Chelsea have bounced back in their last two matches with wins at Fulham and Burnley prior to the international break.

Arsenal will make the short trip to Chelsea full of confidence, as they are one of two sides, along with Tottenham Hotspur, yet to be beaten in the Premier League so far this campaign and are second in the table.

No visiting side has won four league games in a row at Stamford Bridge since Watford in 1986, but Arsenal will be bidding to do exactly that when they travel from north to west London on Saturday for a mouthwatering Premier League clash. It was not so long ago that Chelsea had bragging rights in the British capital but of late they have struggled for results against the Gunners, who will be bidding to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Arsenal only trail leaders Tottenham by goals scored ahead of this clash, but Chelsea are improving, after notching up successive Premier League wins for the first time since Mauricio Pochettino's summer arrival. With a daunting run of fixtures to come, the Blues will hope to build some momentum and dent Arsenal's title challenge in the process.

The timing of the proposal is understood to have disappointed people working on setting up the regulator, however, with the white paper having set broad parameters for the regulator in February. The government is committed to putting forward legislation “as soon as parliamentary time allows” and an announcement has been expected as part of the king’s speech on 7 November. An advertisement was recently placed to recruit a chief operating officer for Iref.

On Thursday the chief executive of the Football Association, Mark Bullingham, told an industry audience at the Leaders conference that he felt there was some way to go on defining the regulator’s role. “Where we’re getting to is really understanding what the government’s plans are,” he said. “The last draft of those plans I think lacked a bit of detail in some areas and we really want to see that detail.
