The Redwood Forest Foundation (RFFI) is inviting community members to the Usal Redwood Forest on Sunday, June 11 to take part in UC Berkeley’s “Sudden Oak Death Blitz.” Usal Forest is located five miles west of Leggett. People will meet at the RFFI office at 90 W. Redwood Avenue in Fort Bragg at 8:45 a.m. and Leggett Fire Department at 67001 CA-271 in Leggett at 9:30 a.m. SOD, short for Sudden Oak Death, is a fungal pathogen that is threatening Tanoak and other oak species in California.
