The Saudi Ministry of Culture’s Jeddah Historical District Program (JHD) has announced the launch of its Jeddah Historic District’s Waterfront Project, which is part of the larger Jeddah Historical Rejuvenation Project that began in September 2021. In a statement, HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Culture, said that the two-year project will reconnect the Red Sea with Al Balad – downtown Jeddah’s popular moniker – and vitalise the historic Al Bunt Port. The redeveloped waterfront will be constructed in line with high and sustainable standards, and feature cultural, historical, and environmental themes from across Al Balad, the minister detailed. He
