In 2018 Arne Semsrott and Luisa lzuzquiza, information transparency activists, decided to take The European Border and Coast Guard Agency,  commonly known as Frontex, to court. Semsrott and lzuzquiza had been requesting information from the EU agency since 2016. The rejected request that eventually went to court was for documents related to their vessels in the Mediterranean.
