A Hopland man was arrested recently for resisting arrest after allegedly trying to punch a deputy, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 13500 block of South Highway 101 in Hopland around 7:45 p.m. Nov. 30 for a report of two intoxicated people there. When a deputy arrived and located the two people, one of them began walking away. After being ordered to stop, the man reportedly began running and the deputy pursued him on foot.
