July 5, 2022 (KHARTOUM) – The Chairman of the Sovereign Council in Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, relieved the civilian members of the joint collegial presidency as he plans to dissolve it. Al-Burhan on Monday announced the dissolution of the Sovereign Council after the formation of a national unity government by the political force based on a deal brokered by the Trilateral Mechanism. Multiple told the Sudan Tribune that the head of the Sovereign Council informed the dismissed members of the decision which is expected to be officially announced on Wednesday.
