Qatar's Fares Ibrahim Elbakh won the gold medal in the men's 96kg weightlifting event and set an Olympic record of a combined lift of 402kg at the Tokyo Games on Saturday (Jul 31). Elbakh lifted 177 kg before setting an Olympic record with his clean and jerk lift of 225 kg. His combined lift totalled 402 kg - also a record. The olympian also attempted a world record 232 kg clean and jerk but fell short.
