Four people were killed in a fire at a Rogers Park townhouse Thursday morning, with more than a dozen firefighters and multiple fire trucks still at the scene.
The fire broke out at a four-unit townhome near Paulina and Greenleaf streets in Rogers Park about 4:15 a.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department. Two men and two women were found unresponsive inside and transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
All four were later pronounced dead, the Chicago Police Department confirmed.
Cell phone video captured at the scene overnight showed flames shooting from the building, with crowds of firefighters working to put them out.
Photos and video also showed the aftermath, with charred and broken windows.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
