Why Kolkata Knight Riders Might Make These Retention Decisions
Rajasthan Royals' win over Mumbai Indians ended KKR's playoff chances before their match against Delhi Capitals. The final league fixture then ended in a 40-run defeat at Eden Gardens. KKR finished seventh with 13 points from 14 matches, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Kolkata Knight Riders will look to preserve their established Indian core while making selective changes to improve consistency. Their retention decisions will depend on how the management balances player value, availability, and the team's requirements ahead of the IPL 2027 mini auction.
