Khloé Kardashian on "Running Toward" Her 40s and Reinventing Yourself ...Middle East

News by : (popsugar) -

When it comes to hair, Khloé Kardashian has always been a chameleon. Bobs, dramatic length, beachy waves, bleached blond - the reality TV star has done and worn it all.

"I love the power of glam and the way that you can switch your identity and be something one day," Kardashian tells Popsugar over Zoom while gushing about her beloved wig closet. "I have short hair one day, long hair to my butt the other day. I loved being blond - not anymore just because it was so damaging - but I love being able to change the color of your hair. That's what the wig closet is for; you can do whatever you want."

"The things I hear about the 50s are really exciting. I really do think it's a beautiful time to age."

But as she gets older, her priorities have shifted. Now she's all about nourishing her hair, which makes her latest venture as the new global brand ambassador for hair brand It's a 10 a natural - and she would even say fated - progression of her hair journey. "I was just always in love with it," she says. "It's been a staple in my bathroom forever and when Carolyn [Aronson, founder and CEO of It's a 10] reached out to me, I was just like, 'This is so cosmic. I have your stuff in my drawer. It was just so meant to be."

The reality TV star says she's actually been using the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In ($22) for over two decades, all the way back to season two of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Now, she sticks to a conditioning treatment once a week (or at least tries her hardest ), and she passes on this very important lesson to her daughter True so that she can learn to take care of her beautiful curls. Kardashian's big on using heat protectant too, and tries not to wash her hair too much. "I just don't think my hair needs it," she says. She lives on dry shampoo for those in between wash days.

Overall, Kardashian is in her reinvention era as she continues to enjoy her 40s. At 42, she reflects on all the milestones she's hit and is proud of what she's gone through and how she's persevered. Getting older and still standing is something that she says should be celebrated. "I didn't love my 30s as much, but my 40s - I was never afraid to go into them. I was really running towards them. I wanted that fresh start," she says. "Then the things I hear about the 50s are really exciting. I really do think it's a beautiful time to age."

But reinvention isn't about becoming a completely new person. She believes in building on your past rather than trying to completely erase it. "You're evolving and adapting different pieces of yourself," she says. "Sometimes people think that could be a full makeover or whatever the case may be. But that doesn't mean you completely lose sight of who you once were."

And not letting go of who you once were also means keeping that beloved wig closet (for anyone like me who was wondering). "I still have that wig closet," she says. "It's hard to part with it. I just love it."
