Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s daughter Vivienne has officially dropped her father’s last name.
Vivienne, 18, filed a petition to legally change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie during a hearing Monday, Page Six confirmed. A Los Angeles judge granted Vivienne’s petition to make the legal change, and her attorney, Peter Kenneth Levine, appeared remotely for the Monday hearing.
Judge Virginia Keeny read the names of those whose name change petitions had been approved.
“These are name change petitions, which are going to be granted. That means that I can read the information provided and sign a decree, and you’ll be able to get a copy of the decree in possibly one week in room 112 in the first floor of this building, the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. So if you hear your name, you can sign off, and you can get your paperwork in a week. I’m going to read both the last name and also the last four numbers of the case,” Keeny said.
Vivienne initially filed her petition on July 20.

Vivienne isn’t the only member of the family to make this move. Back in July, Zahara, 21, took steps to remove “Pitt” from her name and permanently reclaim her identity as Zahara Jolie. Court documents obtained by TMZ showed the Spelman College alum published notice of her petition in the Los Angeles Daily Journal once a week for four weeks, as required. She also called for anyone opposing the change to submit a written opposition before the final hearing, the website shared.

Jolie has made it clear that when Vivienne and her twin brother Knox turned 18, she was ready to high-tail it out of the United States. Back in 2024, Jolie shared with The Hollywood Reporter that when her kids became of age, she wanted to start a new life abroad. Since the twins turned 18 in July, she’s officially free to go wherever she chooses.
“I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be…that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here. [After Los Angeles] I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world,” Jolie shared.
