Zyren Drumgoole, 18-years-old at the time of his arrest, pled guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree; he was given a youthful offender status.
What happened?
Back in February, RPD said they got the report of a robbery. They say the victim reported that she recently met with a man online and took a ride-share to a home on Lux Street to meetup with him.
When officers got to Lux Street, they say the victim told them two men came from behind the house and pointed a gun at her, demanding property. After giving the men property, police say the men sexually assaulted the victim. They also say during the assault, a third man came from the house and hit the victim multiple times before she fled.
Police then surrounded the house, saying a total of eight people came out. Three were determined to be involved in the assault, while the other five were released. A search warrant was executed at the home, where police say two handguns, a 3D printed ghost gun, and the victim’s property were recovered.
In February, Drumgoole was also charged with rape, two counts of robbery, and grand larceny.
What’s next?
Drumgoole will serve a sentence of one to three years at the Department of Corrections with an Order of Protection.
