Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Prediction: Premier League Preview ...Middle East

News by : (The Analyst) -

Tottenham are considered the strong favourites by the Opta supercomputer when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday. Look ahead to the game in north London with our Tottenham vs Crystal Palace prediction and preview.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace: The Key Stats

The Opta supercomputer considers Tottenham favourites, with a win probability of 54.2% to Palace’s 22.3%. Roberto De Zerbi has never lost to Crystal Palace in four previous games against them as a manager in the Premier League. Palace have shipped 19 Premier League goals this season, more than any other side.

Roberto De Zerbi is hoping to continue building momentum when his improving Tottenham side host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

Spurs are finally on an upward trajectory having earned back-to-back Premier League wins over Coventry City and Chelsea, while a draw with Manchester United before that means it’s seven points from a possible nine.

De Zerbi might even feel a little more strongly about doing a number on his opposition this weekend; during his time in charge of Palace’s bitter rivals Brighton he earned two wins and two draws in four games against the Eagles.

Tottenham’s wins in their previous two Premier League games are just one fewer than they’d earned in their previous 26 in the competition (W3 D10 L13), and they are now looking for three victories on the spin for the first time since February 2025.

After Lift-Off at Chelsea, How Far Up the Table Can Tottenham Go?

And for fans of quirky facts, they could become the first team since Burnley in March/April 2018 to win three straight Premier League games against sides all beginning with the same letter – what greater motivation could there be?!

The mood at Tottenham has shifted notably of late, but it’s also still fair to suggest supporters have been kept on the edge of their seats. Six of Spurs’ eight goals in the top flight this term have come in the final 15 minutes of games, the joint most of any side. Indeed, the average minute of their goals has been the 74th, the latest of any team.

While De Zerbi has been able to sleep a little easier lately, his opposite number on Saturday, Sage, is a man under pressure despite only being appointed as Oliver Glasner’s successor in June.

The Frenchman was given a vote of confidence prior to Wednesday’s EFL Cup clash with Fulham, but even though his side emerged victorious in a 1-0 win, he remains under scrutiny ahead of this game with Spurs.

The cup win offered some respite after Palace had lost back-to-back league matches, the first of which was a humbling 5-0 loss to rivals Brighton, followed by a limp 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.

Palace’s form hasn’t been convincing for some time, though. A 2-1 win over Fulham on 7 December last year left them in fourth spot, but since then they have lost more games (17) and conceded more goals (58) than any other side.

This term, they have shipped 19 Premier League goals, more than anyone else. It also represents the most they have conceded at this stage of a league season since 1980-81 (22). Of the previous teams to concede 19+ after eight Premier League games, more than half (14) were then relegated.

Lucas Bergvall (knee) could return against Palace. James Maddison (groin) was taken off against Chelsea and it is unclear if he will feature, but Sávio (muscular) and Destiny Udogie (knee) are not available, while Rodrigo Bentancur remains suspended.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Head-to-Head

Tottenham have lost their last two home Premier League matches against Crystal Palace.

Prior to those defeats, Spurs had won nine on the spin in such encounters between 2015-16 and 2023-24.

Palace have beaten Spurs in three of their past four top-flight matches, losing the other one. That is just one fewer than they earned in their first 30 matches against them in the competition (W4 D7 L19).

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Tottenham are rated as the favourites to emerge victorious in this clash, with the Opta supercomputer giving De Zerbi’s side a 54.2% chance of victory.

Conversely, Palace are rated as a 22.3% shot to take all three points, while the draw is considered a 23.5% possibility.

In terms of the season overall, Spurs are currently predicted to finish 11th in the final standings, though they have a 5.5% probability of qualifying for the Champions League and 4.8% chance of Europa League football.

Palace’s situation is considered pretty dire. Their likeliest final place in the latest sims was 18th, and they have a 37.7% probability of being relegated from the Premier League.
