Jimmy Kimmel had an uncomfortable reaction to President Donald Trump’s recent comments about Nicki Minaj—and made that clear while attempting to recreate the moment on television.
During the October 26 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the late-night host reacted to footage of Trump praising the rapper’s appearance at a Michigan rally over the weekend. Kimmel attempted to imitate the president’s accompanying gesture, but the comedian quickly admitted that he wasn’t enjoying the experience.
“Honestly, I’m grossing myself out even doing it,” Kimmel said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
He then added, “Horny Donald is my least favorite Donald of all of them.”
The exchange followed Trump’s October 25 appearance in Port Huron, Michigan, where Minaj joined him at a rally supporting Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers.
While speaking to the crowd, Trump complimented Minaj’s backside and encouraged her to stand up. The president’s remarks and subsequent gesture quickly became a talking point, providing Kimmel with material for his opening monologue.
Kimmel also mocked Trump by adopting an exaggerated impression of the president addressing the rapper.
“Stand up, Nicki! Let’s get a view of that beautiful badonkadonk on you!” he joked.
The comedian then turned his attention to how conservative media might respond if former President Joe Biden had made a similar remark about a female celebrity.
“How would Fox News handle Joe Biden saying Nicki Minaj had a beautiful ass?” Kimmel asked, before delivering another punchline about Fox News personality Steve Doocy.
The late-night host also addressed speculation about Minaj potentially becoming the next White House press secretary. The suggestion surfaced after White House Communications Director Steven Cheung shared a video featuring the rapper praising Trump’s work.
Kimmel joked that the Trump administration had a way of making situations even stranger.
Minaj has publicly supported Trump and appeared alongside him at recent political events. Her appearance in Michigan added a celebrity element to the rally, while Trump’s comments quickly shifted attention away from the event’s political purpose.
Kimmel has frequently used his late-night platform to criticize Trump, making the president’s latest viral moment another target for his political humor.
