Aubrey Buchanan of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Emee Henkel from Broomfield, Colorado, have both made verbal commitments to the University of Pittsburgh for the 2027-28 school year. They will join fellow commits Janae Sanders, Jayla Kuzak, Karina Miller, Marin Raible, and Olivia George on the Panthers’ roster next fall.

A senior at Saint Ursula Academy, Buchanan swims year-round with Cincinnati Marlins. She specializes in breaststroke and IM. She was runner-up in both the 200 IM and 100 breast at the 2026 Ohio Division 1 State Swimming and Diving Championships last season, clocking respective PBs of 2:03.09 and 1:01.71 in finals. She also swam breast (28.41) on the medley relay and led off the 200 free relay with a PB (24.90).
A month later, she had a strong performance at the ISCA International Senior Cup, notching PBs in the 200 free (1:53.85), 500 free (5:01.25), 50 breast (29.11), 200 breast (2:13.97), and 50 fly (25.96).
After swimming to a lifetime best in the 50 breast (33.65) at Columbus Sectionals, Buchanan ended the season at Summer Junior Nationals with PBs in the 50 breast (33.17) and 100 breast (1:12.39), finaling in both events.

Henkel attends Legacy High School and swims with Flatiron Athletic Club. She opened the 2025-26 short course season with altitude-adjusted PBs of 2:04.32/4:24.85 in the 200/400 IM at the ACES Fall High Point meet. She ended the season at Four Corners Sectionals, where she finaled in both IMs and picked up new PBs in the 50 free and 100 back.
Henkel had an outstanding long course season. At Sacramento Futures, she finaled in the 100 breast (25th), 200 breast 22nd), 50 fly (8th), 200 IM (7th), and 400 IM (6th), and updated her lifetime bests in the 50 free (27.77), 100 free (1:00.35), 100 breast (1:14.04), 50 fly (28.18), 200 IM (2:21.06), and 400 IM (4:59.73). Then, at Summer Junior Nationals, she competed in the 100 breast, 50 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM, finaling in the 400 IM (31st) with a new PB of 4:59.13.
