The Bears (And Patriots) Posted Huge TNF Ratings ...Middle East

Friends, we’re living in a time in which the Chicago Bears are must-see television. They’re heading the national morning shows almost daily, and national insiders are working to break every little bit of news on them, all the way down to injury reporting these days, even to the frustration of head coach Ben Johnson.

Simply put, the Bears sell. Probably more now than at any time in recent memory. You should get used to them being in the news cycle, and get used to watching them in prime time and standalone spots in the schedule. Chicago’s Week 7 contest with the Patriots on Thursday Night Football drew an average of 19.86 million viewers, making it the second-most-watched TNF game on Prime Video, only behind last year’s Christmas night game between the Broncos and Chiefs (via Richard Deitsch on X).

The Chicago Bears Are Must-See TV

Thursday’s contest was the most-watched Week 7 game on record across the history of the Thursday Night Football package, regardless of provider.

According to Chicago Sun-Times media reporter Jeff Agrest, the game had plenty of local reach as well on the FOX simulcast for in-market viewers, drawing a 21.8 household rating on FOX 32 in the Chicago market.

The last time the Bears were on Prime Video, they had similar success. Their Wild Card matchup against the Packers delivered 31.61 million viewers for Amazon, eclipsing the streamer’s previous mark of 27.52 million viewers for the Lions-Vikings Christmas Day game in 2025.

Chicago’s thrilling victory over Green Bay saw a 43-percent year-over-year increase compared to Prime Video’s 2025 playoff game and was the most-streamed NFL game in history.

In late August, ESPN’s Ben Solak dubbed the Bears the most-watchable team in the NFL this season. Solak’s feel hasn’t been wrong. They’ll head into Week 8 in prime time again, this time taking on the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Another chance for big numbers in a Bears game.
