Actor Adam Brody is reflecting on his O.C. character Seth Cohen’s iconic romance with Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson).
During an October 2026 interview with ELLE magazine, Brody was asked if he believed Seth and Summer would have stayed together in their relationship.
“Knowing that show as I do, they would. Because it’s what the people want. It’s been a while. I don’t totally remember where we left off, but my guess is there’s been 20-plus years for him to grow, and I’m sure he’d have done that,” said Brody during the ELLE interview.
As fans of The O.C., which had a four-season run until 2007, are aware, the finale shows a brief moment from Seth and Summer’s wedding.
Adam Brody Shared Why He Believed ‘The O.C.’ Had Such an Impact in an October 2025 Interview
During an October 2025 Hot Ones interview, Brody shared why he believes The O.C., created by Josh Schwartz, had such an impact in popular culture. He pointed to the show’s iconic ’00s soundtrack as setting The O.C. apart from other teen dramas.
“I think for a teen show, it was the most music-centric. And I think that is, you know, music is such a lock into a memory or unlocks a memory, so much. And that’s what I was struck by when I watched it again, I was like, ‘Oh, the music’s doing so much work here in a great way.’ And is such a part of the tapestry of it,” said the Nobody Wants This star.
He also noted that the show infused humor and had a sense of self-awareness.
“I think in terms of, like, it being somewhat mold-breaking was the comedic, you know, infusion and also certainly the meta infusion. You know, that more than anything hadn’t really been self-awareness. Self-awareness had not been done in that kind of show before,” said Brody during his Hot Ones interview.
