Police are warning anyone who attended or hosted an event at a suburban banquet hall that they may have been secretly recorded while using a changing room at the venue throughout 2023.
The warning came after police uncovered images from videos allegedly taken by Eleno Silva, a 57-year-old man from suburban Oswego, of underage girls while they undressed in a “designated changing area” at Martini Banquet Hall, located at 171 Saravanos Drive in Yorkville.
Images that “depicted underage females in various stages of undress and appeared to have been captured while the individuals were at the Yorkville business” were recovered from Silva’s cell phone by Montgomery police during an “unrelated investigation,” police said.
Montgomery police notified Yorkville police of their discovery, prompting YPD to launch a subsequent investigation that led them to find multiple images on Silva’s “device” that appear to be copied from surveillance video taken inside the banquet hall showing underage girls undressing to change their clothes during multiple events throughout 2023.
Martini Banquet Hall advertises online as a space frequently rented for quinceañeras, weddings and other special events, though authorities did not specify what events the videos were taken at.
Anyone who attended or hosted an event at Martini Banquet Hall in 2023 is asked to reach out to the Yorkville Police Department, and tips can be submitted by calling 630-553-8590 or by emailing ypdtipline@yorkville.il.us
Silva is also the owner of Riverview Diner, located at 1420 S.E. River Rd. in Montgomery, though was not immediately known if the investigation by Montgomery police was related to the restaurant.
A warrant for Silva’s arrest was obtained by investigators, and he surrendered himself to the Kendall County Jail on Monday. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 10.
Riverview Diner and Martini Banquet Hall did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago’s inquiries.
