A spokesperson for the Marathon confirmed Clancy’s entry into the race, which took place Sunday around the city of Chicago.
Clancy was thrust into the national consciousness when his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy was put on trial for killing the couple’s three young children before attempting to end her own life in 2023.
Patrick Clancy testified during her trial earlier this year, which ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked in its deliberations.
He told the jury in the case he believed his ex-wife’s mental illness had led her to commit the horrific act, with defense attorneys arguing she was afflicted with a rare condition known as postpartum psychosis.
Patrick Clancy has since remarried, and met his new wife while running in New York’s Central Park, according to a “60 Minutes” interview conducted after the mistrial was declared.
