Chicago police were investigating after a man was found fatally shot inside a home in the city’s Garfield Park neighborhood.
At around 1:36 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 3600 block of West 5th Avenue and found a 26-year-old man lying in the hallway of the residence after being shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
The victim has yet to be identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
As of Saturday afternoon, the circumstances surrounding the incident were under investigation by Area Four detectives.
