For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Ellie Stanley from Maryville, Tennessee, has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at Texas A&M University beginning in 2028. She told SwimSwam:
“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue both my academic and athletic careers at Texas A&M University!! First of all, I want to thank Coach Blaire, Coach Wes and the entire A&M Coach staff for this incredible opportunity. From the beginning they made me feel so seen and believed in everything I could be. I also want to thank Coach Tim and Coach PJ for their constant support and belief in me as well! It has really helped me get to where I am today. And of course a huge thank you to my teammates and friends for their constant support, encouragement, and belief in me. I don’t know what I would do without them! And most importantly thank you to my parents and whole family for believing in me since the beginning and being my biggest supporters. You all have shaped me into who I am today and I truly can’t express how grateful I am for that! I’m so excited for this amazing opportunity and can’t wait to be an Aggie!! GIG EM! #ALLIN #Committed #Aggie”
A junior at Maryville High School, Stanley swims year-round with the club team Tennessee Aquatics and specializes mainly in butterfly and IM. We ranked her 15th on our Way Too Early list of top girls’ swimming recruits in the high school class of 2028.
In high school swimming last season, the then-sophomore won the 200 IM (2:00.15) and was runner-up in the 100 fly (53.45) at the 2026 TISCA State Championships. Both times were lifetime bests.
Two months earlier, she had put up PBs in the 200 free (1:50.05) and 400 IM (4:15.57) at Winter Juniors East. And then in January, at the TNAQ Invite, she notched best times in the 50 back (26.59) and 200 fly (1:57.35).
Most of her best LCM times come from 2025 Summer Junior Nationals, where she placed 7th in the 100 fly (1:00.21, PB), 4th in the 200 fly (2:12.18, PB), 28th in the 200 IM (2:19.63, PB), and 29th in the 400 IM (4:55.95, PB).
Stanley is one of the top butterflyers in the cohort, with a 53.4/1:57.3 combo that ranks her 3rd. He best 200 time would have scored in the ‘B’ final at SEC Championships last year, and she would have been just off in the 100 fly (it took 53.15 to get a second swim).
The Aggies have also received verbal commitments from Kaylee Dietrich, Addy Thalinger, Eloise Pattison, and Kate Boutry for the fall of 2028.
