In a new behind-the-scenes video, Glee alum Amber Riley opened up about making a special trip back to the Dancing with the Stars set.
Thirteen years after claiming a Mirrorball trophy alongside Derek Hough, the singer and actress popped up backstage to support her former co-star rather than put on her own dancing shoes. She added her vocals to a former Glee castmate, Harry Shum Jr.’s, dance to a Mariah Carey song as part of a night dedicated to the Grammy-winning performer.
In an Instagram reel, also shared on Facebook, Riley was seen backstage after she sang “It’s Like That” from Carey’s tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi, released in 2005. She shared her excitement about returning to the set.
“I did it!” she declared. “Oh my God, that was nerve-wracking.”

She continued, “It was like, I forgot how loud it is in the ballroom. It is so loud in the ballroom.”
“And I had inner ears and I could still hear everything,” Riley added. “But that was incredible.”
The actress and singer concluded, “But I got to do it for my love, Harry. Now go breathe.”
Shum responded with excitement to the video clip, thanking Riley for her assistance. He wrote, “Thank you for being an insanely talented human and gracing us with your iconic voice!!! I LOVE YOU.”
Fans were thrilled to see the mini-Glee reunion, 11 years after the FOX series took its final bow. They shared their remarks in the post’s comments section, which were also shared with Instagram.
“You did amazing,” wrote another follower.
“A whole GOAT out there, you hear me?” asked a second fan.
“FINE! FINE! FINE! FINE! FINE! FINE!” exclaimed a third Instagram user.
Riley isn’t the only Glee star who supported Shum during his DWTS journey. Chris Colfer, who played Kurt, also attended a taping.
