Two television favorites are getting a new home on weekday afternoons.
FETV announced on Tuesday, Oct. 6, that I Dream of Jeannie and The Bionic Woman will both join the network’s weekday lineup beginning Monday, Nov. 2.
The two shows will air back-to-back, with I Dream of Jeannie starting at 2 p.m. ET, followed by The Bionic Woman at 3:10 p.m. ET.
There’s another bonus for fans who remember watching the shows during their original runs: FETV says both series will be shown in their original, uncut formats.
“The addition of I Dream of Jeannie and The Bionic Woman brings two of television’s most recognizable female lead characters to FETV,” Adam Sumrall, executive vice president of FETV and FMC, said in a press release.
“Barbara Eden and Lindsay Wagner brought two unforgettable characters to life, captivating audiences for decades and leaving a lasting mark on pop culture,” he added.
‘I Dream of Jeannie’ and ‘The Bionic Woman’ Are Joining FETV’s Lineup
I Dream of Jeannie, starring Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman, premiered on NBC in 1965.
The sitcom follows astronaut Tony Nelson (Hagman), whose life changes dramatically after he discovers a 2,000-year-old genie, played by Eden. The series ultimately ran for five seasons and 139 episodes before ending in 1970.
Eden’s Jeannie became one of the most recognizable television characters of the era, while Hagman would later take on another career-defining role as J.R. Ewing on Dallas.
The Bionic Woman arrived several years later and starred Lindsay Wagner as Jaime Sommers, a former professional tennis player who is given bionic enhancements following a devastating accident.
The character was initially introduced on The Six Million Dollar Man, starring Lee Majors as Steve Austin, before proving popular enough to receive her own spinoff.
The Bionic Woman premiered in 1976 and ran for three seasons, first on ABC and later NBC, before ending in 1978. Majors made appearances as Steve Austin, while Richard Anderson played Oscar Goldman on both shows.
Wagner’s performance also earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1977.
The additions continue FETV’s expansion of its vintage television lineup. Earlier this year, the network announced the return of The Beverly Hillbillies, with the complete nine-season series joining its schedule in August.
FETV launched in 2013 and airs television series and movies around the clock through cable, satellite and streaming television providers.
Beginning Nov. 2, viewers can catch I Dream of Jeannie weekdays at 2 p.m. ET and The Bionic Woman immediately afterward at 3:10 p.m. ET.
