The 2026 season wrapped up on Saturday when Wakefield Trinity ended a 57-year wait for a title by beating Warrington Wolves in the Grand Final at a sold-out Old Trafford.

Sky Sports is the rugby league competition's primary broadcaster and has shown every match for the last three seasons as part of an agreement reportedly worth £21.5 million a year.

However, it appears the Super League is set to become the latest sporting event to leave the broadcaster – after the Commonwealth Games and Rugby League World Cup – amid ongoing talk of budget cuts.

It is understood the new agreement will see coverage split between Sky Sports and DAZN, while it is unclear whether there will be a free-to-air option available for UK viewers.

Radio Times has reached out directly to the BBC for comment.
