Cal men’s and women’s swimming and diving have combined their two Instagram accounts and now will be under one Instagram username. The team will use the former men’s account going forward, posting content from both programs now.
As of Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, the school is still waiting to officially change their Instagram handle as Instagram has restricted them from making the change.

The move comes four years after the men’s and women’s program combined under one head coach, Dave Durden. The school previously had two Instagram accounts, calwswim for the women’s program and calmenswim for the men’s program.
Most combined swimming programs have one account. Texas (texasmsd, texaswsd), which has a separate men’s and women’s head coach, is one example of schools still using two different Instagram accounts.
The Golden Bears are coming off of a 4th place finish on the women’s side and a 7th place finish on the men’s side at the 2026 NCAA Championships. The men notably captured the 2026 ACC Championship title. The Cal women were ranked #3 while the men were ranked #5 in SwimSwam’s pre-season power rankings.
