FARMINGTON, N.Y. — Eight people, with one in critical condition, were bought to the hospital after a four-car crash on the Thruway in Farmington Tuesday night.
State Police say it happened between the Manchester / Palmyra (43) and Canandaigua / Victor (44) exits at around 9 p.m.
Investigators say a 30-year-old man from New Jersey was driving when he hit a van in front of him, which caused a chain reaction crash involving a sedan and pickup truck.
According to State Police, the driver and two passengers in the van were brought to Strong Memorial Hospital, with one in critical condition. They say that the New Jersey man and his four passengers were also brought to Strong, and the others in the sedan and pickup truck weren’t hurt.
The New Jersey man was issued several tickets for vehicle and traffic law violations. State Police say speed seemed to be a factor in the crash.
