Gallmon said, “Well, it’s been 29 years, and I was still, I think I was early in my season seat journey at that, at 97, so we weren’t really into it, and I don’t think we attended, and this one just was 29 years, and I thought, oh my gosh, if I have to wait another 29 years, this is ridiculous. So, we booked it, and we’re headed out. My son and I are headed out tomorrow morning.”
The trip is both a fan experience and a father-son bonding opportunity. Gallmon said, “Oh yeah, for sure. We try to do that.”
Gallmon and his son are big baseball fans and have a strong connection to the team. “Dan is great, and Naomi, they’re all amazing to us, so we figured, why not go out and help support the team as much as we can?” Gallmon said.
He is looking forward to a competitive game and celebrating with the team. “I think a competitive game, you know, we’ve been good all year. I stayed up last night to watch the game, all the entire game, just to see, and just the resiliency from the team, and you know, never getting down and always having that. It seems like that is the mantra for the team, and I think we’re excited to see that,” Gallmon said.
The decision to go to Las Vegas came after discussions with other season seat holders and encouragement from Gallmon’s mother. “There’s a group of season seat holders that we were texting back and forth all night, and it was, man, we should really go. We should really go. We were at the watch party a couple, not last night, but the night before, and same thing. We were talking about it and being like, oh, that’d be great if we could go. And then the more we kind of thought about it, the more I thought about it today, I was like, we really should just go. And then, believe it or not, it was my mom that was the big proponent to say, you know what, you guys should just go. And so there we were. We booked it, and now we’re on our way,” Gallmon said.
They are departing from Buffalo at 6 a.m. and will return Sunday so his son can be back for school. Booking the flight, hotel and tickets was easy for Gallmon, who has been to Las Vegas before for work. “The flight was pretty easy. We looked at a couple different flight options and found the best option for us. And then hotel, I’ve been to Vegas a couple times for work, so I knew kind of where the stadium was and how far out we were and where we should stay. So, yeah, that was super, super easy,” Gallmon said.
Tickets were also easy to get, and they will be sitting right behind the home dugout. Gallmon said, “It was through Ticketmaster, so that was easy. And we’re right behind the home dugout, so it’s even easier, so we can cheer loud and hopefully they’ll hear us.”
Gallmon’s son was thrilled when he heard the news after school. “He just sent a message back and was like, are you serious? And I said, yeah, man, we’re definitely going. Here’s the picture. And he goes, oh, my gosh, thank you so much!” Gallmon said.
Gallmon ended with a message of support for the team. “No, just go Wings, right? Let’s go and bring that championship home and continue the great season,” Gallmon said.
