Williams’ performance was so impressive that it has earned him his third FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week Award. Williams’ award triggers a $2,000 donation to Chicago’s local food bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, from FedEx.
The Bears are on to Week 2 and their NFC North battle with the Minnesota Vikings, but it’s nice to see them keep garnering national and league-wide attention for an opening-day performance Bears fans won’t soon forget. He did almost everything right. He made almost every correct decision when he had options. That’s scary for opposing defenses.”
As Ben Johnson pointed out on Wednesday, the challenge they face this weekend will be a different animal, and the first real stress test of the season for an offense that looks like it could be truly special.
