It says to “get under a piece of sturdy furniture” and stay away from windows.The Canandaigua School District has a similar plan, adding that “safety annexes are maintained as part of each building’s emergency plan.” In Greece, one of the area’s largest districts, leaders said the district follows the New York State Emergency Response Guidelines for shelter-in-place.
West Irondequoit also says it has an emergency tornado plan in place, but did not elaborate. The Rochester City School District said it does not have a specific tornado plan.
